Subject:1st doctor visit
Time:9:44 pm.
Mood: satisfied.
He was good natured and dignified
despite being undressed
weighed on a scale
and poked in various places.

He has gained over a pound since his birth
and the doctor assured us that he did like us
even though it is hard to tell for sure.

The three of us went to Pink's to celebrate,
and sat outside in the sunshine. We ate bad things
like chilli cheese fries, and it was oh so good.

I don't feel bad, because I have been eating sooooo
healthy, so I can have a super nutritious breast-O-raunt.

Subject:in my sleep I bacame stuck
Time:7:12 am.
Dream: the door was closing, I put my fingers in the grate to hold it open. As it closed in closed down on my fingers, I thought for a moment that they would be cut off, but it stopped just as it was getting tight. I stood there shouting for help. No one could here me.

Words like door: Access. Ready to enter or something to keep private. Happiness and long life.

Words like fingers: Sensitivity and awareness. It denotes great spiritual research and restless efforts to reach the pinnacle of your ambitions.

Words like open: Entrance and exit. Exposed. Opportunity. Potential. Ready to make a choice.

Subject:He is here!
Time:6:36 am.
I painted my toenails blue
and waited for the portal to open.
when he arrived I stopped remembering everything that
happened before, or who I was waiting for.
So beyond my imagination.
I do not need any flowers.

Time:12:10 pm.
Mood:last day at work.
Cream cheese
Chopped liver
Cheese blintz
With apple sauce
And sour cream
Pastrami sandwich
Russian dressing
Tuna on rye
With pickles
Potato salad
Macaroni and cheese

I want it all, she knows better than to judge me as she shuffles away with her crew cut,
And fancy dangly earrings. I know better than to be impatient with her slow gate, she is old. Food will come.

Besides, I like people today. Everyone seems to be basking in a soft light, a likeable caricature of themselves. Even the man with the unreasonably large buttocks and slim face is likeable. A young Harvey Pekar stares at me, which is a bit creepy but I take comfort in the fact that I am nine months pregnant and very busy eating.

Subject:5 years ago in Dallas
Time:10:03 pm.
We all bought boots the same.
I got a skirt that was for hopped-up club kids.
We sat in the hot tub and almost got ourselves killed
In various ways
At the steak house he wouldn’t stop doing cart wheels
Or speaking French, even though no one could understand him.
She made a girl cry at the table.
The girl said she had only been in Dallas
For 20 minutes and already she was crying.
We were all appalled, but we laughed anyway.
Later that night, when
the sun was rising, we headed toward New York.
(Or maybe she went to New York and I went to LA.,
I can't remember)
Surprised to see the Limo with the disco lights
Pull up, we laughed and laughed and played music.
She tore open the rest of her steak and ate it with her hands.
We had not slept.
Now, I am in a strange suburb, starting up again.
It is cold and it feels the same in some ways.
But, things couldn't be more different.
I wear the boots with the heels worn down and hold my body
like hers when I walk into a room and want something from people I don’t know.
I get strength like that from her.

Your Dream: I was at a workshop that was starting to feel more like a cult. We were swimming, trying to learn to breath underwater. It would take faith. I went out to get something from my car, only to find the windows blacked out. When I opened the door I found my car had been stripped. It was an empty shell. Everything was gone. I wondered how they could of done this in a parking lot and thought about how they blacked the windows and must have hid inside, disassembling everything. I looked in the trunk to find in also lined in the black drapery, but the edges were lined with funerary flowers. It was a coffin! Then I panicked, they know I am not home, they are probably at my house.

Subject:I know I know. (the answer lies within)
Time:9:12 pm.
Lately, I have a reoccurring fantasy that I can find information about anything on google.
It has become so real to me that I find myself trying…. Sometimes for hours.
Why did I get soooo tired today? How can I deal with the insane people in my life?
What am I doing with my life? Should I change careers? Explain to me exactly what happened? I want an oracle, I imagine a page that will say
“blissqueen….. person X is just like that, you have done nothing wrong… In the future you should just say xxxxxxxxxxxx. As far as work goes you should just do xxxxxxxx that is what will make you really happy. It would go on like this and give me all the specifics.
It would make everything OK.

Subject: Something I never told you about
Time:9:16 pm.
I went to an AA meeting once.
It was called “midnight madness” or something like that.
It was on Housten just west of 6th avenue in New York.
Anyway, I was waiting in a long line to use the bathroom and the guy at the front of the line kept letting all the girls in front of me go ahead of him.
Until it was my turn.
He went in and stayed in for a very long time.
Finally a child raced past me and flung the door open to reveal the man sitting on the toilet. Before I realized what was happening I had made eye contact with the guy on the toilet. Then the guy started screaming at the Mother of the child to get her child out. I looked at him and then I looked at her, she was making a motion that was something like, “I am not going into that timy bathroom with you sitting on the toilet even if it is to get my kid”. The kid then shut himself in the bathroom with the strange man. I heard the man yelling at him and then the door opened again. I mistakenly made eye contact with him AGAIN and then burst out laughing. I had to walk away, I couldn’t bear to see him come out. So, I walked away…. Hysterically laughing and took my seat. My friend kept asking me why I was laughing, which would cause me to laugh even more, I couldn’t stop for the next hour and I am sure every one though I was drunk.

Subject:good bye
Time:4:12 pm.
Accidents, beautiful and brutal, lucky and unlucky. A convergence of chemicals and physics, and of circumstances. Of carelessness and beaurocracy and events so powerful that they tug backwards into the deep and the very old. You lived so passionately and made it look good to me to be older than I am. I am sad to see you leave so early.

(thank you for reminding me to read, and to go out and look at stuff and to have pretty things and to have fun……. Oh, and about the importance of lighting)

Subject:old days in New York
Time:11:20 pm.
Sleeping train
Train of thought
Train of sleep

I look back at 5 heads bobbing
Isn't this terribly funny?
Can't you see how funny this is?

Today I got on the train
It was dead time
So it was just me and the man
talking to himself
he was dressed in Red, white and blue
flithy dirty and blathering
as he wiped the sweat from his face
with the large american flag he had
wrapped around his head.

I caught the happy virus last night
When I was out singing beneath the stars.
It is remarkably contagious -
So kiss me.
